BenQ TK800 Review: The new generation projector is on your way!
Yes, things have changed this year after the arrival of the projector called BenQ TK800. Is it the best 4k projector under 2000? Let's see.

Pros & Cons
What I like:
- Its image quality is amazing, ensures sharp 4K with HDR support.
- No doubt, its large screen size is up to 300 inches.
- No problem while action or motion scenes; it handles pretty well.
- Low input lag, gaming was smooth.
- Affordable, inexpensive projector.
What I don't:
- A bit noisy while heavy-duty use. Though it has Eco mode; still noisy.
- It struggles when the darkest black and shadow details come into play.
- As common with DLP projectors, you'll find rainbow effects.
Verdict: What do I think about the BenQ TK800 4K projector?
Coming to its main drawbacks first, the shadow detail and black levels. Yes, it could be fixed. However, apart from that, I didn't find any issue. Moreover, it is quite bright and colorful when it comes to detailed images. For the price, it wins my heart completely. It can be an amazing pic for a home theater setup.
Design: What type of design does the BenQ TK800 carry?
It's a typical-designed projector equipped with a single DLP chip. On the right, it has a normal-sized lens, housing a 4K logo sticker next to it. On the left, you'll find an air vent that prevents heat.
Coming to its built quality, you might not see any cheap stuff on it. It's a well-built projector, quite solid and durable, feels premium and colorful. The unit I reviewed comes with an aqua blue finish to the front, and the rest is white.
Overall, I liked its design. It can complement all types of interiors you have in your room.
Ports & Back panel: What does BenQ T800 have on the backside?
At the rear, it has an array of connections, including two HDMI inputs. The first one is powerful than the second one with HDCP 2.2 compatibility. Therefore, I recommend you use its first HDMI port for better results, or when 4K with HDR source is concerned.
Moving to its second port, it supports HDCP 1.4, handles FullHD with ease. In addition to the ports, you have a VGA input—for laptop and PC, for audio, it boasts analog audio In/Out. Besides, it requires 12V input to fullfil your needs—a 12V typical trigger.
For files and media, you have two USB ports. Equipped with two ports (Mini-B & USB-A) may result in many ways; first, it can power streaming devices and other USB-powered devices. The second can be used for service updates.
Brightness: The BenQ TK800
With about 3000 ANSI lumens, you get an incredible bright factory calibration. Besides, you have some brightness modes, such as cinema, sort, vivid TV, and two user modes.
3D compatiblity: BenQ TK800's 3D performance
When it comes to 3D, its performance over 3D is acceptable. Moreover, it matches the quality we get from other (4K-enabled) popular models of Optoma - UHD50 and UHD60. Overall, I found its 3D performance up to the mark.
Input Lag: Can you accept good gaming from the BenQ TK800?
Its input lag is okay, less than 50ms; it sticks at somewhere 44ms. It is faster compared to the competition; however, acceptable for the price. Normal gaming with FullHD resolution is smooth; you won't have any issues. Serious or pro gamers might be disappointed, as heavy gaming performance is not up to the mark.
Zoom: BenQ TK800 zoom lens
With a 1.2x zoom lens, in my testing, I found light loss of about 2.5%. Again, though, it was for the telephoto. Normally, you don't have to worry about it; whatever zoom's end you use doesn't matter that much.
Fan: Is the BenQ Tk800 noisy?
Yes, it is at some point. Moreover, I found it a bit noisy even though ECO mode is on. Lol, Wait, it is only audible when full lamp mode comes into action. In normal use, it's un audible; you can't hear it unless you're in a complete silent room.
Conculsion: The BenQ TK800
We need to judge things while keeping the price in mind. The T800 is an incredible projector for the price. I don't doubt recommending the projector for frequent use; be it your indoor home theater or outdoor movie backyard setup, you'll love it.
I don't want to avoid the fact that it has negatives, such as its rainbow effect, poor black and shadow detail.
As far as I am concerned, I give it 4.5 out of 5.
